GET COSY THIS WINTER

❥GET COSY THIS WINTER❥

...With Debenhams

When you hear the word 'winter' what is the first thought that pops into your mind?
Cosy Dark nights? Candle lit bubble baths? Hot Chocolate in your favourite mug?

September - December is my absolute favourite time of year, summer comes to an end and autumn creeps in. Autumn brings all the gorgeous vibrant colours; deep burgundy reds,  golden yellows and fiery burnt orange tones - like the crunchy leaves scattered across the pavement on a crisp, sunny October morning.

Next comes Winter, it's time to wrap up warm in your coziest jumper and fluffy dressing gown to Curl up on the sofa snuggled in a woolly blanket, sipping a hot cup of tea.

As Winter is just around the corner, a MUST HAVE for me is some beautiful new bedding to make a nest ready for hibernation, because lets face it, is there anything more comforting than getting into bed on a frosty winters night?

I am going to show you below how I created my very own happy place!

If you follow me on Instagram, you will know I have an unhealthy obsession with everything grey, silver & white.. so when I came across this incredible duvet cover and matching pillow case from the Star By Julien Macdonld range at Debenhams I instantly fell in love! This Duvet/Pillow case is a stunning silvery/grey shade with rose motif detail which looks so pretty. I also cannot even describe how soft this feels, just thinking about it makes me want to jump straight into bed!

..isn't faux fur just absolutely fabulous all year round, especially In the winter. It is perfect to add a feature to any room and it looks SUPER cosy! When I spotted this incredible silver faux fur throw I just had to have it (It was a matter of life and death) Its a perfect size, it drapes beautifully over our King Size bed.

3. CANDLES, CANDLES & MORE CANDLES
My name is Gemma, and I am a candle addict. No really, it is becoming quite a problem. There is nothing I love more than a home filled with delicious scents, especially in the winter as Yankee Candle has the most incredible selection of Seasonal candles – oh wow, they smell good enough to eat!
Here are some of my absolute favourite scents:
CINNAMON STICK - HERE

4. BURY YOURSELF IN CUSHIONS
I LOVE cushions & lots of them! I even have a cupboard in my home that is dedicated to cushions.. we call it ‘Cushion Cupboard’.. Yes, I am aware, I sound insane! Sometimes I like to mix & match with lots of different fabulous textures & sizes and sometimes I like to keep it simple. This Silver Round Diamante Cushion caught my eye straight away – it is such a lovely size and amazing quality!

5. LIGHT IT UP!

How gorgeous is this bedside lamp?! I am totally obsessed with the WHOLE collection of lighting! I didn’t realise quite how big it would be when I ordered it but I was pleasantly surprised – It has a beautiful glass base which I think is really different and would complement many different rooms in my home.

Gemma Louise: The Beginning

I'm so happy to meet you!

Welcome welcome welcome to my blog space.

Where does one start when composing their first post? Well.. at the beginning, of course.
My Name is Gemma Louise Miles, I am 24 going on 64 (no really, I spend my life wrapped up in blankets sipping on a cup of milky tea)

If you had asked me a year ago if I would be starting my very own blog my answer would have been - No freeeeeaking way
So, whats changed? In May 2017 I created a 'Home Instagram Account' to fill my mind with inspiration ready to fly the nest into my new home. Shortly after doing this I realised not only was I a self confessed home interior shopping addict, I also realised how positive, supportive and wonderful being part of the 'Home Instagram Community' was - It was also a total breath of fresh air to see such a lovely side to social media.

As the months passed by, I realised this was so much more than just an Instagram account to me, it was something I was so passionate about, something I was proud of, it was my escape from reality, somewhere I could be nothing but myself and share all the things I love with people who have the same interests. As my account grew I gained more and more confidence and I decided to do something I have ALWAYS dreamed of doing - My Own YouTube account. This was such a huge step for me. I used to care so much, too much, what people thought which has held me back in so many ways.

I remember reading a quote 'One Day it just clicks - You realise what's important and what isn't. You learn to care less about what other people think of you and more about what you think of yourself. You realise how far you've come and you remember when you thought things were such a mess that you would never recover. And you smile. You smile because you are truly proud of yourself and the person you've fought to become'

One day it really did just 'click' - So, Here I am, writing my first Blog post.

I am so exciting to share with you a wide variety of all the things I adore. Including;  interior design, baking, beauty tips & fashion.

I hope you enjoy reading this, as much as I did writing it.

Love, Gemma
